Introduction
The Department of Computer and Information Sciences is established in 1998, and is the newest department at Nagasaki University. The department is one of the most up-to-date engineering schools in the country. Faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students are working on the most challenging and exciting research projects of our era. With approximately 20 faculty members, 160 undergraduate students, 30 graduate students, the department is one of the most active education and research units at Nagasaki University.

Education
At the undergraduate level, the department offers a degree program in Computer and Information Sciences. At the graduate level, the Department offers M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Computer and Information Sciences.

Research
Our research activities can be categorized into Computer science, Theoretical and applied software science and applied information system engineering. These research programs are supported by extensive research funding as well as state-of-the-art research laboratories.
